02. ELIGIBILITY
Age requirement:
All athletes must be at least 20 years old (born on or before December 31, 2005).
Any athlete aged 65 or above (born on or before December 31, 1960) shall enhance self-assessment of health and submit a Participation Commitment Letter signed by both himself/herself and his/her family member (including spouse, parents, adult children, or other adult relatives living together).
Result requirement:
Marathon result within 6 hours or Half Marathon result within 3 hours from and including January 1 2023 to and including September 9 2025. Virtual Run results will not be accepted.
Health requirements:
Athletes must sign and submit the Participation Commitment Letter before the package pick-up.
The Organizing Committee recommends all athletes to undergo a medical examination through a good hospital (above Grade AA) before the race. The examination should mainly include blood pressure, a standard electrocardiogram (ECG), a 24-hour Holter ECG, or a treadmill exercise test (any one of these three will be sufficient). In case of high blood pressure or significant abnormalities in the ECG (e.g. bradycardia), an ultrasonic cardiogram (UCG) must be added. ECG and UCG cannot represent each other. Athletes should assess their own health based on the examination reports to ensure they are physically fit for long-distance running before registering for the race. During the race, personal damages and property losses caused by personal physical conditions shall be the responsibility of the athletes.
Marathon running is a high-intensity, high-load sport with a certain degree of risk. Athletes who do not exercise properly may suffer from different degrees of physical injuries or even life-threatening injuries. Therefore, athletes should be in good health and have a regular basis of running exercise or training.
Individuals with the following diseases or conditions are not suitable for participating in the race:
a. Congenital heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, myocarditis and other heart diseases
b. Hypertension and cerebrovascular diseases
c. Coronary artery disease and severe arrhythmia
d. Suffer moderate chest pain and severe coronary artery disease (angina) during mild activity
e. Diabetes with excessively high or low blood sugar levels
f. Have had a cold or abnormal body temperature within two weeks before the race
g. Have consumed alcohol or had insufficient sleep the night before the race.
h. Pregnancy
i. Other diseases unsuitable for sports.
Note: Athletes should take primary responsibility for their own health and enhance self-assessment of their health status. Before the race, athletes must be aware of their physical health, especially in cases of sudden illnesses such as colds, fevers, or viral infections. They should also be aware of their medical history, including a history of coronary heart disease (especially myocardial infarction), hypertension, and family history of sudden death.
03. REGISTRATION METHODS
General athletes
Registration for general athletes is available through the Official website of Bank of China Beijing Marathon 2025 or its official cooperative App. Group registration is not accepted. Lottery will be conducted when the registration number exceeds the quota.

Note: Registration is limited to individual accounts (sign up with phone number or email) ONLY. Please do NOT remove your registration or close your account before the race conclusion, so as to ensure normal information inquiry and fee payments.
Invited athletes
a. International Elite Athletes: In accordance with the World Athletics Label Road Races Regulations 2025 and the Road Race Management Regulations of the Chinese Athletics Association, the Organizing Committee will conduct the invitation process for elite athletes in a fair, just, and transparent manner.
b. Domestic Elite Athletes (China): Athletes are required to download a Domestic Elite Athlete Application Form (《国内精英运动员报名申请表》) from the official website and submit via Email (oc@beijing-marathon.com) by 18:00, 15 September 2025 (Beijing Time). The Organizing Committee will evaluate their qualification based on the elite athlete invitation plan, and the final decision will be informed via email.
c. Other invited athletes: The Bank of China Beijing Marathon 2025 will have other invited athletes, including pacers, physician runners, sponsors and media partners, who shall meet all the registration eligibilities of the Race.
Athletes with disabilities
The registration methods for athletes with disabilities are explained as follows in accordance with the requirements of the Chinese Athletics Association's Notice on the Participation of Athletes with Disabilities in the National Marathon and Related Sports Events:
a. Athletes with disabilities must meet the registration eligibility and complete the registration through the official website of Bank of China Beijing Marathon 2025 or the official cooperative mobile App. Lottery will be conducted when registration number exceeds the quota.
b. Racing wheelchair division is not offered, and racing wheelchair athletes are prohibited to participate. To ensure the safety of non-racing wheelchair athletes and other athletes, non-racing wheelchair athletes are required to gather at the tail of the whole queue. Athletes must follow the instructions of referees and volunteers to assemble and start in a safe and orderly manner.
Athletes with other features of disabilities (such as visual impairment, hearing impairment, intellectual disability, upper limb disability, etc.) will be assembled and start together with the general athletes in a safe and orderly manner.
c. In the interests of safety, non-racing wheelchair athletes and athletes with visual impairment must download and file a NON-RACING WHEELCHAIR ENTRANTS APPLICATION FORM or APPLICATION FORM FOR ENTRANTS WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENT from the official website and submit with their disability certificate copy or photo together via email (oc@Beijing-marathon.com) by 18:00, 15 September 2025 (Beijing Time). Athletes with visual impairment must have a guide runner throughout the entire race and must provide the information of a registered guide runner for official record.
04. REGISTRATION TIME
The registration opens at10:00 on 10 September 2025 (Beijing Time) and closes at 18:00 on 15 September 2025 (Beijing Time).
The draw result will be announced in early October 2025.
Note: The Organizing Committee may decide whether to open a second-round registration for unfilled entries based on the actual payment. Any such decision will be announced publicly.

06. REGISTRATION FEE
Fee: 200 RMB/person
Once the registration is successful, the fee is non-refundable. The entry is strictly personal and non-transferable.
07. DIRECT ENTRY
Athletes meeting Beijing Marathon’s guaranteed entry standards
Athletes who completed the 2024 Beijing Marathon within the following time standards for each age group are considered qualified. The specific standards are as follows:

Athletes with guaranteed entry via 2025 Guangzhou Marathon
A total of 100 athletes will be randomly selected from both successful and unsuccessful applicants of 2025 Guangzhou Marathon who also meet 2025 Beijing Marathon entry requirements. These selected runners will receive guaranteed entry into 2025 Beijing Marathon.
Athletes granted guaranteed entry must meet all eligibility criteria outlined in the Bank of China Beijing Marathon 2025 competition rules and entry guidelines. They must also submit personal information and complete payment within the designated registration period via the official website or official cooperative App. Failure to complete the registration and payment on time will be regarded as a voluntary forfeiture of the guaranteed entry, and the spot will not be retained. The final list of guaranteed entry athletes will be announced on the official website.
08. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Athletes are required to provide accurate and truthful personal information. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to verify all registration data. Any athlete found to have concealed health conditions or submitted false information will be disqualified from participating in the Bank of China Beijing Marathon 2025.
Any individual who gains race eligibility through false information, transfers his/her bib to another person, or uses a bib from a previous edition shall bear full responsibility for all consequences arising during the race. Upon verification, violators will face a lifetime ban from the Beijing Marathon in accordance with the race regulations. In case of severe violation, the Chinese Athletics Association may impose additional penalties.
If the number of applicants exceeds the quota, race entry will be determined by a lottery draw. Athletes selected in the lottery must complete registration and payment within the specified period. Failure to do so will be considered a voluntary forfeiture, and the spot will not be reallocated.
This year’s course is not suitable for pram/stroller participation. For the safety of all athletes, strollers are strictly prohibited on the race course.
The Organizing Committee will verify athletes’ identities through either facial recognition or ID document check (using the valid ID document provided at registration). If an athlete chooses facial recognition, his/her facial information will be collected at the package pickup before the race, and used for identity verification at the start area on race day as well as upon finishing. If an athlete chooses ID document check, he/she must carry his/her ID document at all times on race day for identity verification at the start area and upon finishing, and shall be responsible for keeping it safe.
In the event of force majeure resulting in race postponement or cancellation, the Organizing Committee will issue further notices regarding arrangements.
